Ice cream!

Despite my efforts to delay the inevitable, Zoe has been introduced to the chocolate dipped ice cream bar... And, true to form, she really only cares for the chocolate part...

As you watch the video, you can probably hear Uncle Billy laughing in the background. Zoe keeps him in stitches all day...

Applescotch...

My husband has ruined our child! Zac likes to eat butterscotch chips - the kind you use for baking cookies. I cannot stand butterscotch chips, I think they are gross. SO, Zac has sold Zoe on butterscotch (pronounced 'applescotch') chips as a dessert after dinner. It is the cutest thing to watch Zoe get all excited about 'applescotch'...

Busy Bees...

We've been so busy lately. We sold our house and bought a new house at the end of June. Then we painted and carpeted the new house and have been trying to unpack for a month now. In the midst of buying and selling, we went on vacation. Zac changed positions at work and is now in a less stressful, no-travel job. It's wonderful! We didn't move far, just closer to Zac's parents who also live in OKC.


Zoe is growing and doing amazing things all the time. She started speaking in sentences and picks up new words or phrases everyday. She is starting to potty-train, though we aren't pushing hard on getting to that goal. Her favorite activity inside is coloring or playing with Daddy and her favorite activity outside is digging in the dirt.

(Below) Our neighborhood threw a block party at the beginning of August. It was a great way to get to know our neighbors and meet other young families. Zoe discovered the blow-up jumping 'thing' and thought it was the best fun of all. She had to hang onto the side in order to jump. She had a blast! August 2008 .

Beach Bums...

We took a vacation to Gulf Shores, AL for the week before Memorial Day weekend. It was a perfect time to go! There were only a few people there, the beach was not crowded and it was peaceful. Even the weather was good! We stayed at the Gulf Shores Plantation. It's a pretty neat collection of condo's. They have lots of pools scattered throughout the property and the property is well-maintained. We spent most of our time out on the beach. We'd sleep in in the mornings, go to the beach for a little while, go back to the condo for sandwiches, then nap. After that, we'd go back to the beach, go to the pool or go on a mini-trip.


One of our mini-trips was to visit Fort Morgan. It was fun to climb all the stairs with Zoe.



We also went to the outlet mall on another mini-trip. Zoe found all the kid rides that were along the sidwalks outside of the stores. She even made great friends of a store clerk when Zac went clothes shopping.


In the evening we'd go into town and eat at a resturant. We only visited three resturants even though we went out for dinner every night. We found one, called the Shrimp Basket, that we went to four times. They had all-you-can-eat popcorn shrimp on Sunday and Wednesday, and all-you-can-eat fish on Mondays and Thursdays. So we went on those days. It was gooooood! AND, not expensive.


So, we spent most of our time on the beach or at a cool pool for Zoe. The pool was huge, but half of the pool was only about a foot deep. Zoe loved it and we all had a blast relaxing and playing in the water. It doesn't sound like we did a lot on vacation - and we didn't - it was wonderful!

On to the next project...

I hope the Mommies I know had a great Mommy's Day! I know I did. Zac cooked lunch for all of us and Bill and Billy(Bibby, as Zoe calls him) cooked dinner. It was wonderful! We didn't do much, just sat around and watched tv - something we don't do usually. It was a really relaxing day. I suppose if it had been warm enough outside, we'd have been out there.

For Mother's Day, Zoe made cards to send to Grandmas and Aunt Kim. She didn't really seem to like the feel of paint, but really liked washing her hands in the water! I know my mother will recognize the t-shirt Zoe is wearing...it has a lot of years in it!

New Views

I am starting a blog for the grandparents and other family and friends. I really want to share new and fun things Zoe is doing and I thought this might be a great way to do it. (I'm really stealing the idea from friends of ours that are now long distance - Thanks Tysons!)
